Fair Group expands into Sweden – aims to become the preferred provider of invoice and credit management services in the Nordics
20 October 2026
Fair Group is launching its services in Sweden. In just a few years, the company has become one of Norway's largest providers of invoice and credit management services. Its technology-driven approach and more considerate treatment of people in debt have made its business model increasingly popular among Norwegian companies. Today, Fair manages more than two million debt collection cases and distributes 20 million invoices annually. Sweden marks the first step in a broader Nordic expansion.
“We are now taking the next major step in our Nordic expansion. We already work with several large companies operating across multiple Nordic countries, and establishing a Nordic presence will allow us to offer our clients a single partner with a comprehensive range of services across the region. Our ambition is to become the preferred choice for businesses seeking an efficient, end-to-end solution for invoice management and debt collection,” says Christian Aandalen, CEO of Fair Group.
Rising debt levels in Sweden
Fair Group's expansion comes at a time when debt registered with the Swedish Enforcement Authority (Kronofogden) has reached record levels. Kronofogden is Sweden's public enforcement authority, responsible for handling claims that have progressed to compulsory debt recovery.
By the end of 2025, nearly 450,000 people in Sweden had accumulated a combined debt of SEK 154 billion. Total debt increased by 12% between 2024 and 2025, with interest and fees accounting for one-third of the outstanding amount.
The highest debt burden was found among people ages 35–44, whose combined debt reached SEK 38 billion by the end of 2025—an increase of nearly 48% since 2023.

“Most people genuinely want to meet their financial obligations. The problem is that debt often grows faster than people can manage. Our industry has a responsibility to intervene earlier. In Norway, our model has demonstrated that technology and proactive follow-up can resolve more payment difficulties before they develop into serious debt problems. The sharp increase in debt levels in Sweden highlights the need for new solutions. We believe Fair can challenge the industry's traditional approach,” says Aandalen.
A partner for the entire Nordic region
Fair Group's Nordic expansion is driven by a clear market need: businesses increasingly want a single partner, one technology platform, and a unified process across all their Nordic markets.
“By bringing technology, expertise, and processes together under one roof, we can deliver a more efficient and user-friendly service. This strengthens our clients' competitiveness throughout the Nordic region,” says Rune Heimstad, chairman of the board at Fair Group.
Investing in technology and expertise
Throughout 2025, Fair Group has strengthened its organization. The company has recruited several senior executives with extensive industry experience and taken ownership of the technology underpinning its services through the acquisition of UnicornBox, a cloud-based debt collection platform.
This investment has enhanced the company's integration capabilities and enables faster development of new features and services.
“Our investments in both people and technology have established a strong foundation for continued growth. Our goal is to make it easier for consumers to make payments and stay on top of their financial obligations, while providing our clients with a more efficient and customer-friendly approach to debt collection and credit management,” says Aandalen.
